Delete your Beacon account

Delete your account and its data from here — you don’t need the app installed.

This page permanently deletes your Beacon account and the data attached to it. You'll enter the email address or phone number you sign in with, we'll send a 6-digit code to it, and entering that code carries out the deletion straight away. Signed up with Apple or Google? There's a second option further down that doesn't need a code — use that one, since the code route can't reach an account created that way.

This cannot be undone. Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period, no recycle bin, and no way for us — or for you — to bring the account or anything in it back afterwards.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and how you sign in — your email address, phone number, and any Google or Apple sign-in connected to it.
  • Your profile — your name, photos, video, interests, links, and everything else people see when they open your profile.
  • Your beacons and plans — everything you’ve posted, joined, or hosted. Anything still coming up is cancelled, and the people who joined it are told.
  • Your friends and connections — your friend list, and any requests you’ve sent or received.
  • Your location data — including your home beacon and any location history held against your account.
  • Your messages — your direct messages, and your side of every group chat.
  • Everything else recorded against you — your settings, notification history, saved items, and your usage and analytics records.

What doesn’t disappear

Two small things survive, and we’d rather say so than surprise you:

  • Messages you sent into a group conversation stay readable for the other people who were in it — otherwise their conversation would fall apart. They’re no longer linked to you, and show as coming from a deleted user.
  • If your account was banned, we keep a scrambled, unreadable fingerprint of your email or phone number, purely so the ban can’t be sidestepped by signing up again. It can’t be turned back into your details, and it isn’t used for anything else.

Signed up with Apple or Google?

Then a code may never reach you, and the form above can’t help. If you chose Hide My Email when you signed up with Apple, your account holds a private Apple address you’ve never seen and couldn’t type in; and some sign-ins hand us no email address at all, so there’s nothing for us to send a code to. Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account instead — that proves the account is yours just as well.

You can also do this in the app

If you still have Beacon installed, the same deletion lives at Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Account. It works exactly the same way — a code, then immediate permanent deletion — so use whichever is easier.

Want a copy of your data before you go? Request an export from Settings → Privacy & Data → Data Privacy → Export My Data in the app first, and wait until it’s ready to download. Once the account is deleted, an export can no longer be produced.

Stuck, or not sure which email your account uses? Email support@beaconmeetup.com and a real person will help. See also our Privacy Policy and Support page.
